After School Program

Learning Doesn't End When the School Day Does.

Our After School Program (ASP) extends the spirit of Santa Barbara Charter School beyond the classroom, providing children with a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where they can continue to learn, create, explore, and connect.

Whether building forts, making art, playing games, or simply enjoying time with friends outdoors, students are encouraged to follow their curiosity while being supported by caring adults who know them well.

A Place to Grow

Our After School Program is designed to support the whole child through a balance of structure, creativity, movement, and free play.

Every afternoon offers opportunities for children to:

  • Explore art and creative expression

  • Enjoy outdoor play and nature-based activities

  • Build friendships and social skills

  • Participate in sports and enrichment programs

  • Share a healthy daily snack

Program Highlights

Daily After School Care

Available from school dismissal until 5:30 p.m., providing a reliable and enriching environment for working families.

Morning Care

Morning care is available from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. to help families start the day with ease.

Kindergarten students are safely escorted to their classrooms by ASP staff.

Enrichment Opportunities

Throughout the year, students enjoy a variety of enrichment experiences that may include:

  • Arts & crafts

  • Outdoor exploration

  • Sports and games

  • Community-building activities

  • Guest instructors and special programs

Depending on enrollment and funding, seasonal camps may also be offered during winter break, spring break, and summer.

Flexible Scheduling

Families can choose the schedule that best fits their needs.

  • Enrollment is available year-round.

  • Monthly schedules can include one to five days per week.

  • Schedule changes may be submitted before the 25th of each month for the following month.
